A great step forward on access to abortion information and care

A new national abortion telehealth service begins in late April with referrals and information...and by July follow-up care and abortion-relation counselling will be available.

Come November it'll include telemedicine...offering providing clinical consultations and couriered medications.

Family Planning chief executive Jackie Edmond says some will want face-to-face help, but others will prefer a virtual service.

She says there's still huge stigma surrounding abortion - and this is another option for people.
