Easter has turned into the most dangerous time of the year when it comes to scams

Easter has turned into the most dangerous time of the year when it comes to scams

Netsafe data shows between 2017 and 2021, there has been a 360 percent jump in online incidents during the holiday break.

Online Safety Operations Centre manager Sean Lyons says people need to be extra vigilant this weekend.

He says the most common Easter scams include fake online shopping sites, prize or promotional offers.

Lyon says if something doesn't feel right, go with your gut and double check.
