A second route between Blenheim and Nelson has reopened

A second route between Blenheim and Nelson has reopened

State Highway 63 has opened to traffic after extensive storm damage.

Last month's flooding caused widespread damage, including a washout of the Branch River Bridge.

Waka Kotahi's Andrew James says means there is now an alternative route to State Highway 6.

He says a temporary 50 kilometre an hour speed restriction will be in place at the Branch River site.
