Samoa have named a star studded 24-man squad for next month's Rugby League World Cup, with eight players set to feature in this weekend's NRL grand final

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

Panthers players Jarome Luai , Brian To'o, Stephen Crichton, Izack Tago, Spencer Leniu and Taylan May headline the squad, which also includes Eels forwards Junior Paulo and Oregon Kaufusi.

Tournament director Nicolas Lamperin is confident he will secure more highly ranked players for January's ASB Women's tennis classic in Auckland.

Last year's US Open runner up 38th ranked Leylah Fernandez has been signed to join world number eight Coco Gauff in the field for the WTA tournament.

Lamperin has confirmed they've started talks to try and secure last year's US Open champion Emma Raducanu for the Classic.

Shane van Gisbergen admits he's still coming to grips with the technicalities of rally driving ahead of Rally New Zealand starting on Thursday.
