A personal finance expert says the value of a role is more than just an income

A personal finance expert says the value of a role is more than just an income

Various industries are struggling with staffing shortages -- and some employers are increasing salary offerings to recruit candidates.

It's led to talk about whether to switch jobs to get a pay increase.

Hannah McQueen told The Front Page podcast, a job is about creating purpose -- but it also needs to have a progression pathway.

She says chasing income instead of career development, could be quite short-sighted.

McQueen says she knows a lot of people who make a lot of income, but they've hit the ceiling of what they'll earn.
