Buller District Council has received funding from Waka Kotahi to repair roads damaged by the severe weather event in February.
The council has already received 1.5 million for emergency repairs.
Infrastructure delivery manager Eric de Boer says repairs range from extensive road reinstatement to minor clean up works.
He says the remedial work is expected to take up to 24 months to complete, as the damage is significant.
