    Police are acknowledging the sentencing of the man found guilty of beating a two-year-old girl to death in Weymouth


    Tyson Brown has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum non-parole period of 15 years.

    He was charged with the murder of Arapera Moana Aroha Fia two weeks after she was rushed to Starship Hospital in October 2021.

    Fia was unresponsive upon arrival and pronounced dead hours later.

    Counties Manukau Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin, says children are amongst the most vulnerable in our community and we all have a duty of responsibility.
