Police have clarified the disappearance of Christchurch real estate Yanfei Bao is not a homicide investigation

Police have clarified the disappearance of Christchurch real estate Yanfei Bao is not a homicide investigation

The 44-year old was last seen door-knocking properties at Wigram on Wednesday morning.

A man has been charged with kidnapping - our newsroom understands he was arrested at an airport, attempting to leave New Zealand.

Detective inspector Nicola Reeves told RNZ the investigation is not a homicide investigation, and remains a missing person case, but police are very concerned for Bao's safety.

Police have confirmed officers are searching a third property this morning in relation to the case.
