A Tauranga builder has had his licence cancelled after being convicted of forgery

A Tauranga builder has had his licence cancelled after being convicted of forgery

Matthew Biddle, who has a history of fines, suspensions and cancellations, pleaded guilty in February to two charges of using a forged document.

The Building Practitioners Board revoked his Design Class one licence earlier this week, after finding an unacceptable risk of future offending.

They've ruled Biddle is no longer able to carry out restrictive building and design work, and can't reapply for his licence for two years.

They're urging people to check the Licensed Building Practitioner register when hiring builders.
