A coin mistakenly struck with both a Canadian side and a New Zealand side has sold at auction in Wellington for 60-thousand dollars

A coin mistakenly struck with both a Canadian side and a New Zealand side has sold at auction in Wellington for 60-thousand dollars

It is one of only eleven remaining in the world, and fetched a record fee for a kiwi coin sold on our shores.

Mowbray Collectables Director David Gault says the sale price was seven times its pre-auction estimate.

He says it's an amazing price, and reflects a strong interest in New Zealand rarities in the coin world.

A host of stamps go under the hammer today.
