The young driver jailed for killing five mates in a horror car crash at Washdyke, near Timaru, has been released

The young driver jailed for killing five mates in a horror car crash at Washdyke, near Timaru, has been released

Tyreese Fleming - now 21 - was the only survivor of the high-speed crash - after drinking and while driving on a restricted licence.

He was refused parole in May because he did not have an adequate release plan - and the Parole Board questioned whether he was truly remorseful.

Fleming walked free yesterday with a number of conditions, living at an approved address, in Christchurch.
