Hopes changes to bus lanes will make it easier for public transport users to get around Auckland

From this Sunday, bus lane times will change on Karangahape Road and general parking will be taken away.

Auckland Transport says this will allow a more consistent journey for bus customers no matter what time they are travelling.

A new bus lane will also be added to Newton Road to give buses priority right turning on to K Road.

This is designed to make new WX1 Western Express quicker and more reliable.

The services, which connect Westgate to interchanges at Lincoln and Te Atatu will also start this Sunday.
