Chris Martin "sprinkles fairy dust" as a co-parent, according to Gwyneth Paltrow

The Oscar-winning actress has son Moses, 17, and daughter Apple, 19, with the Coldplay star, and Gwyneth has heaped praise on Chris' parenting skills

Gwyneth, 51 - who was married to Chris between 2003 and 2016 - told PEOPLE: "[Chris] has a real sweetness. And so he brings that to the way that he parents them ... He's sort of gone a lot, he's on the road a lot, but he brings - it's almost like he comes and sprinkles fairy dust."

Gwyneth and Chris, 46, have managed to make their kids their number one priority since their break-up.

The Hollywood star explained: "I just always say, to say you want to put your kids first and actually to put them first are two different things. I think we all think we want to put our kids first, but when it's sort of ... you're making a sacrifice or you feel angry or hurt, sometimes it's hard to do that."

Earlier this year, Gwyneth admitted that her relationship with Chris was "very different" to her other romances.

The actress confessed that they shared a "very deep" connection.

Gwyneth - who previously dated the likes of Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt - told the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast: "When I met him, there was a very deep thing there. And I couldn't quite put my finger on it because it felt very different than my other relationships."

Gwyneth was always convinced that the Coldplay singer would become the father of her children.

Gwyneth - who is now married to Brad Falchuk - shared: "It's not so much that the relationship itself turned out to be healthier than my other relationships. It's just that I think I had this deep calling on some level.

"I knew he was going to be the father of my kids, maybe or something. It was a very strong feeling."
