Auckland Police have seized three-dozen firearms and more than 15-thousand rounds of ammunition during searches

Auckland Police have seized three-dozen firearms and more than 15-thousand rounds of ammunition during searches

Officers and the Armed Offenders Squad scoured three New Lynn properties last Friday - also finding explosives.

A 53-year-old man who held a firearms license has been arrested, allegedly holding many weapons illegally.

He faces 29 charges of unlawfully possessing firearms and magazines, as well as cannabis for supply.

He'll reappear in Waitakere District Court next month.
