A chemical spill at Victoria University has been isolated by fire crews

A chemical spill at Victoria University has been isolated by fire crews

The intersection of Kelburn Parade, Fairlie Terrace, and Glasgow Street was closed temporarily as emergency services in Hazmat suits worked at the scene.

Fire crews were called over reports of strange smells and banging noises from one of the science labs at about 1:40pm.

Fire crews are leaving the scene, and the site has been returned to the University.

There are no reports of injuries.
