The Meningitis Foundation is calling on the powers that be to make vaccinations more accessible

New data shows the number of meningococcal cases has decreased by 13 between 2022 and 2023.
However those aged 15-24 now make up 30-percent of cases in 2023, compared to 18 the year prior.
Chair Gerard Rushton says criteria for free vaccines in this age group is too narrow, and people can't afford it.
He's urging Pharmac, Te Whatu Ora, and the Government to find the means to fund the vaccine for everyone
