Fire has broken out in Auckland's Parnell

Videos from the scene show the fire belching orange flames and black smoke into the sky.

Crews were first alerted to the fire just after 4.30pm this afternoon.

There are ten fire trucks, alongside support vehicles, working to bring the well-involved fire under control.

Broadcaster Wilhelmina Shrimpton is on scene and says she can see a large number of emergency vehicles.

She says the smoke is thick.

Ms Shrimpton says strong wind isn't helping matters.

Police say there is no immediate concern that anyone is in the building.
