The Magic struggle to overcome loss of skipper, conceding to the Mystics in Auckland

The Magic have struggled to overcome the loss of skipper Ameliaranne Ekenasio to illness, conceding their ANZ Premiership netball match 54-44 to the Mystics in Auckland

Saviour Tui and Ivana Rowland filled the shooting circle in her absence.

Magic stand-in captain Erena Mikaere has told Sky Sport playing without Ekenasio proved costly.

The defending champion Mystics remain third behind the Pulse and Tactix.
