Brittany Cartwright has filed for divorce from Jax Taylor

The 35-year-old reality TV star - who has Cruz, three, with her estranged husband - announced in February she had split from the model-and-actor after almost five years of marriage, and on Tuesday (27.08.24), she submitted paperwork to legally end their marriage

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the 'Valley' star listed the date of separation as 24 January, 2024, and cited irreconcilable differences for the breakdown of their relationship.

Brittany is seeking primary legal and physical custody of Cruz and is open to visitation for Jax, 45.

The 'Vanderpump Rules' star also wants to block the ability of the court to award spousal support to either her or her estranged husband.

Brittany and Jax announced their split earlier this year - but she subsequently admitted that a reconciliation remained possible.

She told Us Weekly: "There's definitely a chance. But I won't waste my time and get back into a toxic situation.

"Now the veil has been lifted and I see how much I was always cleaning up Jax's messes. I'm thrown in the middle of all these fights and constantly forced to apologise for him in the media and to friends. It's hard."

In July, Jax checked into an in-patient mental health facility for care and support.

His representative admitted that it was a "particularly sensitive time for him and his family".

The rep said in a statement at the time: "Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast.

"He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter."

He and Brittany started dating in 2015 and got engaged three years later, before tying the knot in June 2019.
