Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been ruled for the season in a major blow to their Premier League title defence

The Spain international suffered an ACL injury in his right knee in the draw with Arsenal in London, for which he's undergone surgery.

City were beaten in four out of the five games Rodri missed last season and he has lost once in 50 appearances across all competitions.

He's a favourite to win the Ballon d'Or award next month.
