Alexandra Burke will be imposing a "two-drink rule" on her wedding day because she doesn't want to get drunk

The 36-year-old pop star is engaged to marry footballer Darren Randolph and she's already decided the bride and groom will only get two glasses of Champagne on their big day because she wants the couple to "remember" the whole event

She told MailOnline: "I have always said this, and me and Darren have always said our one rule is that on our wedding day it will be a maximum of two glasses of Champagne. I want to remember the whole day and be fresh the next day as well.

"You want one glass when you're getting ready and one at dinner and be done, that is my vibe."

Alexandra went on to add: "I've had friends who have been drunk at weddings and they have had the best time, each to their own, but my thing is one glass while you're getting ready and one glass at dinner and done.

"I know it probably doesn't sound very exciting, but me and Darren have spoken about that recently ... and we said what will we do on the wedding day in terms of alcohol because you pay for everyone to drink, and we agreed two glasses maximum. I don't want to be drunk, and I want to eat and enjoy all the food."

The couple have been dating since April 2021 and are parents to two children together. Alexandra recently went public with their engagement news by sharing pictures of the moment the sports man dropped to one knee to pop the question.

Sharing her excitement in a post on Instagram, the singer wrote: "

Instagram which showed the goal keeper down on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. In the post shared on Instagram, admitted she's looking forward to getting hitched. She wrote: "Here's to us forever! I can't believe I get to marry my best friend. Bring on the Burke-Randolph wedding. I can't wait to call you my husband."

A source told The Sun newspaper Alexandra was blindsided by Darren's proposal.

The insider explained: "Alexandra had no idea this was coming and was on cloud nine. Darren had gone all out to plan the most special moment for her and it was perfect.

"They couldn't be happier to start moving towards the next stage of their life together."
