Rob Lowe and Demi Moore "briefly had a thing" in the 1980s

The 60-year-old actor starred alongside Demi in the 1985 coming-of-age film 'St. Elmo's Fire', and Rob has now admitted to having had a romantic relationship with his former co-star

During an appearance on the 'Let's Talk Off Camera' podcast, Kelly Ripa observed: "You two have crazy good chemistry."

The Hollywood duo also starred alongside each other in 'About Last Night', the 1986 rom-com, and Rob admitted that it's still one of his favourite movies.

He shared: "Of all the stuff I did in the '80s, if I had to pick one, it would for sure be 'About Last Night'."

Kelly, 54, subsequently asked Rob whether they ever had a romantic relationship.

The talk-show host said: "Did you have a crush on her? Did you guys ever date? Did you all date each other?"

Rob then explained: "I mean, Demi and I briefly - I'm not telling tales out of school - we briefly had a thing.

"Look, anytime you put young 20-something men and women together, hook-ups are inevitable."

Rob and Demi, 61, could actually reunite at some point to make a 'St. Elmo's Fire' sequel.

Speaking about the possibility, Rob said: "It's moving along.

"It's going a little more slowly than I would have liked, but that's a good thing because we're trying to find the right, writer and the right story. But all of the actors, everybody is on board. Everybody's excited."

Rob is "super excited" about the prospect of making a sequel.

The actor said: "I actually think there's a lot to be said about why we're doing it and I'm super excited about it. Hopefully we can pull it off."
