Wellingtonians are paying twice as much as Aucklanders for home insurance

Wellingtonians are paying twice as much as Aucklanders for home insurance

Latest figures from insurance comparison website Quashed show the average home insurance quote in Wellington is now almost 4-thousand-500.

That's well above the national average of 2-thousand-700, and more than double the Auckland average of 2-thousand-100.

It means an average Wellington household is spending 3-percent of their income on an average policy.

That compares with the average Kiwi family spending 2-percent, and the average Auckland household just 1.3-percent.
