Catherine, Princess of Wales joined senior members of the royal family at the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday (09.11.24)

The 42-year-old princess - who underwent abdominal surgery and preventative chemotherapy treatment earlier this year - joined King Charles and other royals at the event at the Royal Albert Hall in London

The princess - who has Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, with her husband, Prince William - has slowly been returning to public duties over recent weeks, after focusing on her health issues earlier in the year.

The Festival of Remembrance is geared towards recognising the sacrifices made by serving personnel, veterans and their families. It is widely considered to be one of the most important events in the royal calendar.

The princess was joined at the Royal Albert Hall by Charles, who is still receiving treatment for cancer.

The 75-year-old monarch - who was diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2024 - is also set to lead the royal family at the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph on Sunday.

However, Queen Camilla will miss the ceremony after she was diagnosed with a "seasonal chest infection".

Buckingham Palace previously explained that Camilla, 77, was "following doctors' guidance" by missing the Remembrance events in London over the weekend.

The Palace said in a statement: "Following doctors' guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend's Remembrance events."

Despite this, Camilla still intends to "mark the occasion privately at home".

The statement continued: "While this is a source of great disappointment to the Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week."
