Sabrina Carpenter is reportedly "taking a break" from Barry Keoghan

The 25-year-old pop superstar struck up a relationship with 'Saltburn' star Barry, 32, just over a year ago but an insider claimed on Monday (03.12.24) that it is all over for now

A source told People: "They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break."

The 'Espresso' hitmaker - who cast Barry in the music video for 'Please Please Please' over the summer - recently wrapped the North American leg of her 'Short n Sweet' tour and will hit Europe in March 2025, whilst her former partner is currently working on a film version of 'Peaky Blinders' for Netflix.

Former 'Girl Meets World' star Sabrina and the 'Banshees of Inisherin' actor Barry rarely spoke about their relationship specifically but just weeks ago, Barry heaped praise on the singer in the wake of her six Grammy nominations and hailed her work ethic.

Speaking on 'The Jess Cagle Show', he said: "I'm really, really happy for her. I gotta get on the phone soon. Don't put me on the spot, lads.

"I don't know anyone who works as hard, you know?

"I'm in awe of her, watching her work and her [commitment] and the standards that she sets, especially being on that ['Please Please Please'] music video. She knows the vision, she knows what she wants, and it's, yeah..."

Just prior to that, Barry admitted that he felt "incredibly blessed" to be dating Sabrina.

Asked about their romance on 'The Louis Theroux Podcast', he said: "I knew you'd do this. Listen, all I'm going to say is I'm incredibly blessed.

"Such a strong, independent lady who's massively talented and yeah. Pretty special."
