Triple H will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year

The 55-year-old legend - whose real name is Paul Levesque - is a 14-time world champion and now serves as the company's Chief Content Officer, in charge of the wrestling giant's creative output

The announcement was made at the end of a 'Town Hall' meeting at WWE headquarters on Wednesday (29.01.25) as Triple H's longtime friends Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker came out to surprise him.

Shawn - who's wrestling nickname was the Heartbreak Kid - said: "HBK and The Undertaker have made an ex ecutive decision here today."

Undertaker noted it was "long overdue", as Shawn continued: "Though you are in the Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X, it is only fitting that the Cerebral Assassin, The Game, Triple H, at WrestleMania 41 take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame"

The three WWE icons hugged on stage, while Triple H joked he was going to "kill" company president Nick Khan for orchestrating the induction.

He quipped: "From a guy that usually has something to say about everything, I'm speechless.

"I'm gonna kill Nick when I leave here - if you see somebody flying off of the roof, just ignore it."

Someone in the crowd watching shouted "you deserve it", as others cheered.

Visibly emotional, he added: "I don't know what else to say, just thank you!"

His wife Stephanie McMahon walked out onto the stage and gave him a hug.

Shawn later posted on X, formerly Twitter: "@undertaker and I got him good on his home turf!

"It is an honor of a lifetime to announce that the first member of the #WWEHOF Class of 2025 is none other than my friend @TripleH."

The Dead Man added: "Way overdue, more than well deserved. Welcome to the Hall of Fame, my friend."

And Stephanie replied: "You got me too @ShawnMichaels and @undertaker! It is my honor to witness your brotherhood.

"Thank you for making the ex ecutive Decision because you know Paul never would!

"Congratulations to my King, @TripleH! You have more than earned your place in Immortality #WWEHOF class of 2025."

Triple H had an iconic in-ring career spanning four decades, before helping create NXT and shaping the future by introducing fans to the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley and more.

He officially retired from in-ring action at WrestleMania 38, and focused fully on running WWE's creative operations, leading to the company's recent Netflix deal.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of D-X in 2019 - along with fellow members Shawn Michaels, 'Road Dogg' Jesse James, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and their late teammate Chyna - and will now be recognised for his solo accomplishments.
