In Auckland, emergency services have responding to a structure collapse on Avondale's Blockhouse Bay Road.

They've also been dealing with a tree falling on a house in Mangere, and downed power lines, fallen trees and damaged buildings in other parts of the city.

All of Auckland remains under a severe thunderstorm watch.
