    Neil Young made a dash to hospital after his show in California over the weekend due to an "unexpected health emergency in the family"

    The 79-year-old rocker performed at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California on Saturday night (12.09.25) and he's now revealed he walked off stage and headed straight to the emergency room


    The Harvest Moon hitmaker shared a picture taken in the back of an ambulance on his website's blog and wrote: "Music was great last night ... After an unexpected health emergency in the family and a surprise visit to the hospital right after the music stopped ... "

    The music legend didn't explain who had been taken ill, but admitted the emergency hospital visit meant he had to miss catching up with friends after the concert ended.

    He's next due to perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Monday night (15.09.25) and he insisted the tour is continuing despite the hospital trip.

    He added: "We are back on track. As we roll south now. After the music at Shoreline where I missed seeing all my old friends because of that trip to the hospital."

    Neil has been on the road with his Love Earth shows since kicking off the tour in Sweden in June - headlining Glastonbury Festival in the UK and performing across Europe, the US and Canada - and the Hollywood Bowl concert will bring the trek to an end.

    He's been documenting his travels on his blog and prior to the hospital trip, the Like a Hurricane described the beauty of his journey through Oregon on his way to his show in Bend on Wednesday (10.09.25).

    He wrote: "Beautiful forests and plains towards Bend ... miraculous views, deep, deep canyons. More music tonight then California ...

    "But now, Bend. Oregon is beautiful! Natural beauty and landforms, miles and miles without a 'for sale' sign on any property. No one wants to leave!

    "Walking by the river, there is no garbage. None. No garbage storage bins. Nothing. Totally clean. So great. So much to learn here in Bend.

    "It's a mystery town. A town of dreams. Music will be here tonight along with a flash flood warning until 11pm."
