Donald Trump has celebrated the news of Jimmy Kimmel's talk-show being pulled by ABC

The network has decided to take the 57-year-old star's programme Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely after he suggested that Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah last week, was aligned to the Make America Great Again movement and the US President has praised the decision

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: "Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED.

"Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings even than (Stephen) Colbert, if that's possible."

The 79-year-old politician - who is currently on his state visit to the UK - also urged NBC to take Kimmel's fellow late-night presenters Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers off air.

Trump wrote: "That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT."

Kimmel had recently branded Trump as a "chubby little teacup" after returning to Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this month after a summer break as he launched an excoriating monologue directed at the White House chief - who had gloated following the announcement of the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in July.

Addressing rumours that Trump had died, the comedian said: "He has mysterious bruising on his hand, which they tried to cover up with make-up...

"The White House claims the reason for these bruises, and his big fat elephant ankles, is he suffers from a condition known as chronic venous insufficiency.

"Which in layman's terms means he's got a very small venous. He's got an insufficient venous.

"But Trump says he's in great health and he's never felt better. And, despite the fact that he looks like a pumpkin that got left in a hatchback on a hundred-degree day, he is definitely not dead.

"Here's the thing: Donald Trump will never die. Forget it. He's like Dracula: he's going to keep sucking the life out of us forever."

Jimmy also branded the president "woke" for his threats about his talk-show being the next to face the axe.

He said: "Oh, you delicate, chubby little teacup. Did we hurt your feelings? You want us to be cancelled because we make jokes about you?

"I thought you were against cancel culture? I thought that was, like, their whole thing? When did you become so woke?"
