Sarah Paulson didn't "like" the scathing reviews of her new legal drama All's Fair

The 50-year-old actress stars opposite Kim Kardashian in Ryan Murphy's new legal drama which was hit by a slew of negative reviews from critics following its release on Disney Plus earlier this month and Sarah has now admitted she was disappointed by the write-ups but she still had a lot of fun making the show.

She told Variety: "Does anybody like to get reviews from the critics that are not stellar? No.

"It's always a wild thing to put the thing you've been working on out into the world for people to determine its value.

"But I feel like what matters to me is the absolute unbridled joy and fun we have had making and promoting the show. There's not a single thing or person in the world that could change that."

The show - which follows a team of female divorce lawyers - was branded "what may well be the worst television drama ever made" by The Times newspaper while the Guardian called it "fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible".

All's Fair - which also features Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, and Glenn Close - has a three per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer, a measurement of critical entertainment recommendation by professional critics, while it is rated at 66 per cent on the website's Popcornmeter, which features audience reviews.

The negative reviews did not stop All's Fair being renewed for a second season with Disney Plus bosses ordering another series after it became the biggest Hulu Original scripted series premiere in three years, based on the first three days of streaming.

Close recently told how she has seen the whole first series of All's Fair, and insisted it is "pretty f***ing good".

She told The Guardian newspaper: "I swear to God, I've seen all nine episodes and it's pretty f***ing good. "It is what it is: it's juicy and outrageous at times and touching."

The Fatal Attraction star also admitted Kim is "lovely" to work with and is "very smart".

Close added: "She's lovely! And very smart. Very, very conscientious with her kids.

"When we were filming she was going through working towards her law degree, and near the end she would have flashcards.

"She now has her law degree, and I asked her: 'Are you going to practise? And she said: 'No, I just want it in my back pocket'."
