    The Melbourne Grand Prix is officially off

    Formula One says the season-opener in Melbourne has been cancelled, following confirmation that a member of the McLaren Racing Team has tested positive for COVID-19 and the team's decision to withdraw.

    The decision followed an announcement from Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews that while the event could go ahead, spectators would be banned from the Albert Park race track.

    Supercars officials have said their event is off as well.
