Robert De Niro has moved into a $125,000-a-month apartment.

The 71-year-old actor and his wife Grace Hightower have moved out of their rental property in West Village and into the five-bedroom abode, one of the most expensive rental apartments in New York, after being left homeless in 2012 when a fire ripped through their flat.

A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column that the couple were keen to move closer to their former home until renovations on their existing abode are complete.

Their latest rented home, which is on the market for $65 million after previously being listed for $95 million in 2012, takes up a whole floor of a tower at 15 Central Park West, near to their fire damaged apartment at 88 Central Park West.

The pricey New York pad is made up of two condo apartments which have been combined into one and were previously rented for $70,000 per month by Cameron Diaz's ex, New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, and investor Henry Silverman.

As well as a selection of bedrooms, the couple should have no problem keeping clean in their new abode as it features seven bathrooms.

What's more, visitors to the couple's home might like to take in the stunning views of the Hudson River, Central Park and downtown Manhattan from the abode, while the property also boasts a library and a dining room ideal for putting on dinner parties for their fellow actors and actresses.
