Excitement from staff and students as they say a final farewell to their old Redcliffs school

Excitement from staff and students as they say a final farewell to their old Redcliffs school

It's been operating out of the van Asch Deaf Education Centre since fears of rock falls from nearby cliffs forced them from the school site seven years ago.

Today they say goodbye to the old school buildings then cross the road to Redcliffs Park for the sod turning on the new site.

Principal Rose McInerney says it's the physical beginning of their journey home.

She says it's a bit bittersweet especially for those who worked and went to the school.
