It could be a long drive in to Wellington for those on the Kapiti Coast this morning following a seven-vehicle crash

Police say the nose to tail happened south of the Raumati on-ramp around 6am.

Nobody's been injured, but the southbound lane is partially blocked and it's going to take some time to clear.

NZTA says motorists should expect additional delays on top of usual peak traffic.

Police are asking drivers to be patient.
