Industrial action for workers at Taharoa's ironsands mine on the North Island's west coast

E Tu members working at the mine have all voted to strike next month, after failed wage talks with new boss, Wayne Coffey.

E Tu industry co-ordinator, Joe Gallagher, says new conditions put forward by the company strip away long-standing rights and job opportunities for locals.

He says workers have had enough - and are taking a stand, because it's an issue that affects the whole community.
