Auckland Council officials are defending spending a quarter of a million dollars on a central city sculpture

"Light Weight O" is a circular mirror sculpture - suspended between heritage
buildings on O'Connell Street.
The artist told the Herald the original budget for the work was 80 thousand
dollars
The Council's Arts and Culture manager - Richard McWha - says
things like resource consents, building engineering reports and health and
safety aren't included in the cost of the artwork.
They are included in the project's total cost.
