A new study could provide alternative choices to women going on anti-depressants during pregnancy

A Canterbury University trial is seeing if vitamin and mineral supplements improve women's mental health during pregnancy.
But Professor of Clinical Psychology Julia Rucklidge says the randomised supplement trial they're doing - hasn't been done on women taking anti-depressants while pregnant.
She says during pregnancy, women are told anti-depressants are safe to take... but they haven't actually been systematically studied.
Julia Rucklidge says in her study - they're not just looking at what's best for the mother's well being... but that of the infant too.
