Adding to the increasing number of strikes today are workers at BlueScope Pacific Steel in Auckland

Adding to the increasing number of strikes today are workers at BlueScope Pacific Steel in Auckland

They're off the job until 7am tomorrow in protest over the break down in pay
    talks.

E tu Union says members met the company for mediation on Friday and thought
    they had a deal.

But spokesman Joe Gallagher says the company quickly withdrew its offer, the
members imposed an overtime ban and voted to strike.

He says the company is refusing to make a decent pay offer - despite an
almost 1.6 billion Australian dollar profit.
