Zoe Kravitz was thrilled when Meryl Streep complimented her on her bowling technique

Hollywood legend Meryl, 69, has joined HBO series 'Big Little Lies' and whilst shooting episodes for Season Two the cast - which includes 29-year-old Zoe, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley - decided to have a fun night out at a bowling alley in June

Zoe - who plays Bonnie Carlson in the show - has revealed the tenpin game was one of several nights out the actors enjoyed but it's the evening that lives long in her memory for her because Meryl praised her for getting a strike, describing her co-star as her "hero".

During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on Thursday night (16.08.18), Zoe said: "I'm OK at bowling, I got a strike. And Meryl, I think, is very dedicated to everything that she does, so she was really into the game and I got a strike and she turned to me and said, 'You're my hero!' And I know it was just bowling and I know she didn't mean it but time slowed down and I looked deep into her eyes and I was like, 'I'm your hero?' "

During her interview on the talk show, Zoe also spoke about her famous parents, rocker Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, and admitted it just became normal to meet lots of famous people, including late pop icon Prince, when she was growing up.

Recalling how she once bumped into the 'Raspberry Beret' hitmaker in a club, she shared: "I was 18 and I was at a club and I was dancing, all of a sudden I feel someone tap on my shoulder and I turn ... I'm like, 'I know I know this person,' and I look and I'm like, 'Oh my God, it's Prince.' "

Following the chance meeting when she was a young woman, Zoe took the opportunity to invite the music legend to her gig the next night but afterwards Prince just wanted to speak to her about a "beautiful woman" he had spotted at the bar rather than her songs.

She laughed: "I think they ended up hitting it off and I think they even left. And I was like, 'Finally, Prince has gone.' He was a little annoying. But only in that moment and I love Prince, just to be very clear."

During the 'Big Little Lies' bowling night, Reese took to her Instagram account to share a snap of the gang having fun.

The 42-year-old actress captioned the photo: "We work and we play! Bowl-a-Rama party with the ladies of #BigLittleLies! (sic)"
