Pete Davidson did not get down on one knee to propose to Ariana Grande

The 24-year-old comedian popped the question to the 25-year-old singer soon after they started dating this year and Ariana said the proposal was extremely casual

She told the 'Zach Sang Show': "He didn't get on a knee, thank God. No, that would've been so googly."

And Ariana admitted she wasn't interested in marriage until she met Pete.

She said: "I'm not like a very traditional person so the fact that I'm getting married is something I never even saw coming. I never saw that coming, I never wanted that.

"I was like, 'F**k that, there's no point, like what's the point?' Then I kind of understood it once I found the right person."

However, she previously said she knew she would marry Pete years before they started dating.

Speaking about the beginnings of their romance, she admitted she knew she would go on to be his wife when they first met in March 2016 when she hosted an episode of 'Saturday Night Live' - the sketch show that the comedian stars on.

She said: "Well, we met on 'SNL' like two, three years ago whenever that was, we've like never exchanged numbers or anything - we weren't even like friends for a long time.

"But I had the biggest crush in the world on him the whole time, like forever my friends used to make fun of me for all that stuff.

"But I like left his writer's room and we were like writing skits and stuff for the show and my tour manager was in the hallway. I'm not like a crushy person I don't have crushes on people I don't know, but I left and I like jokingly said to my tour manager, I was like, 'I'm marrying him 100 per cent.' I was like, I'm literally marrying him.' "
