The Duchess of Sussex will visit her mother in the US

The 37-year-old royal - who was known as Meghan Markle before she married Prince Harry in May - is to fly into Los Angeles any day now on a solo trip in order to spend quality time with her mum Doria Ragland, whom she hasn't seen since her wedding day three months ago, after visiting her friends in Toronto, Canada

However, news that she's making the effort to see her mother will no doubt infuriate her father Thomas Markle - who has been bad mouthing his daughter since she joined the royal family - as he hasn't seen or heard from her for months.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The past few weeks will no doubt have been -incredible stressful for Meghan and no one wants this saga to continue for her. Hopefully she can find some way of seeking a resolution with her father but going back to her roots for a few days is exactly what she needs right now."

It's not yet known whether the former 'Suits' star will attempt to contact her father - who was forced to miss her wedding in order to undergo heart surgery in the US - but friends close to the brunette beauty think he may have burnt his bridges.

An insider explained to the publication: "Time will tell what the process for any type of relationship may be but as long as they keep hurting her, it becomes more and more unlikely they will be able to have any type of relationship."

But her fraught relationship with the 74-year-old retired lighting director isn't the only thing on Meghan's mind at the moment as it's been reported that her estranged half-sister Samantha Markle - who has also been saying some unkind things about her sibling - is being lined up to enter Britain's 'Celebrity Big Brother' house.

A source said recently: "Producers have been in touch with Samantha, but swore her to secrecy. She has been telling people she won't be going into the Big Brother house - and has tweeted as much. But in reality she's being told that it is a possibility. Big Brother bosses know that her opinions on Meghan would be as big a storyline as Stormy's thoughts on Donald Trump. It would be a ratings winner."
