    Defending champions Lisa Carrington and Caitlin Ryan have advanced straight through to the final of the K2 500 at the Kayak world championships in Portugal


    The Kiwis have beaten the Olympic champion Hungarians to make an early
    statement, an hour after Carrington won her K1 500 heat to reach the semis.

    Ryan says they gelled from the start and were keen to give it a good go and
    it panned out really well.

    Aimee Fisher and Kayla Imrie have finished second in their heat to advance
    straight through to the K2 200 final.
