Heather Grant wanted to take out the policy a year after the birth of her
son..
She says the letter suggested she'd been declined outright .
But the bank's now explained she can reapply in a year or two - or ask for a
higher cost policy.
But Heather Grant says it seemed unfair to tar all people with the same brush
- when all kinds of people suffer from mental health issues.
She's calling for a better understanding from the insurance industry.
BNZ has apologised for the wording of the letter and says it's not its policy
to discriminate against anyone.
