Silver Ferns vice captain Katrina Grant is devastated that her likely defensive partner faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines

Silver Ferns vice captain Katrina Grant is devastated that her likely defensive partner faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines

Goal keep Temalisi Fakahokotau has been ruled out for the remainder of the year with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.

Grant says it's so disappointing to see that happen to someone like Fakahokotau, who's worked so hard and come so far.

She says Fakahokotau's been positive around camp which is amazing and a testament to her character, but it also gives someone else a chance to step up.

The Silver Ferns open their quad series campaign against England tomorrow.
