Kelly Clarkson is "very excited" to be launching her own talk show

The 'Breakaway' singer has confirmed reports she has shot a pilot for her own daytime programme and she admitted she's going to be using her upcoming tour to prepare for her new job

Explaining 'The Voice' winner Brynn Cartelli will be joining her on the road, she told Jimmy Fallon: "She's opening, and Kelsea Ballerini. We're starting in January.

"I'm doing this thing to kind of prep for my talk show that's gonna be next year, but we're doing a live segment during my show, so every night on tour we're going live online...I've got a lot of jobs, Jimmy!"

The surprised 'Tonight Show' host said: "This is a big announcement because this has not been announced yet..."

Kelly replied: "Well, it's been leaked! I'm very excited."

The programme will air before 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' but the 36-year-old star promised it will be "a little different" to anything that's been shown on TV before.

She said: "We sing every day on the show and do this fan request thing. It's fun. In the pilot, I got people to sing with me and do little skits," she added. "It's very musical; it would be weird if it wasn't!"

While Kelly - who has children River, four, and Remy, 21 months, with husband Brandon Blackstock - is excited to do more of her "favourite pastime"; talking, she needs to learn to listen before taking on hosting duties.

She admitted: "I didn't think I'd ever do it, but we shot the pilot. I love talking; it's like my favorite pastime.

"It's hard for me to shut up, though. You have to listen to people who come on your show, and I just keep talking. That's the only thing I've got to work on: listening."
