A gallant defeat for the Silver Ferns against Australia in netball's Quad Series

The Ferns have gone down 60-55, trailing at every break but fighting back on several occasions as the margin threatened to blow out.

Both sides had 64 attempts on goal, but Australia's shooting combo of Caitlin Bassett and Gretel Tippett shaded their kiwi counterparts.

New Zealand skipper Laura Langman says the tempo has increased in international netball.

She says it's lifted up a notch and you have to learn as quickly as possible.

The Ferns have a couple of weeks off before the Constellation Cup.
