CentrePort has announced a strong underlying profit for the 2017/18 financial period.
It says the net profit after tax - and before fair value and earthquake impact adjustments -is eleven-point-eight million dollars .
That's a 37 percent increase on last year.
CentrePort's putting the result down to record cargo volumes - with more logs, vehicles and containers moving through the port.
Chairman Lachie Johnstone says the result shows the business is recovering strongly from the impacts of the Kaikoura quake.
