America's NASCAR championship could be coming to Australia as soon as next year as part of the annual Supercars event on the Gold Coast

DJR Team Penske drivers Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard will get behind the wheel of a supplied NASCAR in demonstrations on the Surfers Paradise street circuit this weekend.

Supercars chief executive Sean Seamer confirmed the championship was in discussions with the US category about future appearances on the Gold Coast but stressed talks were very much in a "preliminary" stage.
