    Scott McLaughlin's secured pole for tonight's Gold Coast 600 Supercars race


    The Kiwi driver has clocked the fastest time in the top 10 shootout, finishing point two zero nine ahead of defending series champion Jamie Whincup.

    The result also sees McLaughlin win the overall pole position series title, with his 12th victory of the season.

    He says it's fantastic for the team, especially being able to do it in a shootout.

    Fellow-Kiwi Fabian Coulthard will start from fourth, with Shane van Gisbergen 10th.
