A young Kiwi jockey is brushing off the pressure being heaped on him ahead of the Melbourne Cup

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

22 year old James McDonald will ride race favourite Yucatan in this evening's race.

But McDonald says the added expectation doesn't add to his nerves.

He says it's probably more exciting as he's involved in the biggest race of the year.

The track is soft with plenty of rain falling in Melbourne today

We'll have full coverage of the race that stops two nations at 5pm.
